The Welcome Garden

by Julia Jones

The first thing you will notice as you enter our campus are the newly created flower beds welcoming you to our campus. This garden, with cozy benches (thank you Beth Veres!) underneath shade trees, surrounded by flowering shrubs and perennials was made possible by a generous grant from our friends at The Village Foundation of Bay Village. The Welcome Garden was designed by award-winning landscape designer Julia Jones with contributions from the talented team at Maple Leaf Landscaping and Rich Bartsche at Cahoon Nursery. Thanks to the Village Foundation (www.thevillagefdn.org ) for making this next phase possible. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we have!

Gemstone Project

by Julia Jones

I grew up at BAYarts and my heart is planted deeply here. As a landscape designer and artist,
I see the BAYarts gardens, as a fresh canvas that I call The Gemstone Project. My vision is to
create public gardens and embellishments in honor of the history and charm of this unique
landscape. Phase One of The Gemstone Project began last fall with newly created beds and stone paths around the Gallery House and the first stages of garden renovation around the Coffee Station. In spring hundreds of bulbs, flowering shrubs, trees and perennials will announce these changes. Keep an eye out for my updates in the BAYarts quarterly newsletter and on this website. If you would like to donate your time or help fund this project, please call BAYarts for details.

The mission of BAYarts is to provide a welcoming lakeside environment to stimulate, encourage and support professional and aspiring artists of all ages through collaboration, education and exhibition.
